Deborah is Co-Founder of DoubleStar Venture Partners. As a former Director at IBM Ventures, Deborah brings the corporate VC perspective to DSVP. Her experience is global and provides a bridge between the startup and corporate mindsets and the insights needed for growth and potential exits for our portfolio companies.
Deborah is based in Silicon Valley and brings insights from the VC community to entrepreneurs and founders around the world. She shares views on markets and technology with both founders and investors. Deborah is a member of the Corporate Venture Advisory Board of the NVCA, an advisor to Mosaic Ventures in the mobility space and has been Pitch Global’s CVC in Residence. Deborah also mentors women around the world through US MAC’s Prospera Women.
Deborah’s relationships are global and include emerging geographies. Deborah is a frequent spokesperson on topics of relevance to entrepreneurs and investors, including corporate venture and innovation, mergers and acquisitions, disruptions in various industries, climate and sustainability, women in technology and trends in investing. Deborah specifically tracks high growth technology areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security and deep tech; as well as industry domains in climate and sustainability, healthcare, agriculture and more.
Previously, Deborah represented IBM’s high growth software and hardware businesses in IBM Ventures. Deborah sourced deals with startups for M+A, strategic alliances and investment. In her role in strategy, Deborah was responsible for sharing insights about emerging markets, technologies and business models with IBM senior executives and with venture firms and entrepreneurs around the world. Deborah holds degrees in cognitive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Connecticut. She is also a former Board Director and past Chair of Silicon Valley Forum, the emerging technology non-profit. Deborah relaxes with music, cooking, gardening and loves to travel.
